This past week saw the State Funeral of the late Prince Harold Duval, which was conducted in the Baal system. As part of the Imperial Navy, the INV Empress was duty bound and honored to rise to the somber occasion. Our role and part to play within it was issued by the office of Emperor Arissa Lavigny-Duval, shortly before the details of the State Funeral were made public. We were to change course at once and head back to the Bubble in record time. It has been a challenging week at best.

With the recent death of Prince Harold Duval, this week has been a moment of reflection and contemplation throughout the Empire. I'm having a hard time accepting it is October already. This year on deployment has flown by so fast, and it looks like things will on be getting faster as we train up for some ground based missions. My love for the deep black of space is strong - but I appreciate it more when I can put my actual boots on the ground. Maybe its time to start getting back into biology and analyzing some plant-based life.
