Carrier Days and Titan Woes

It's been about a week since a fellow commander practically gave me a whole bunch of credits. Which they recommended using to buy a carrier, which I did and I've turned it in to my own mobile base. There are some services I got like Cartography and Redemption that I suspended because I don't need them right now or in the case of Redemption takes a twenty-five percent cut from my earnings. But thanks to having this carrier I hired Johnson from Beaufoy Vision to be my dedicated chief engineer. Which leads to what's happened during this week.
I decided to equip a alliance chieftain to head into the Titan cloud to harvest materials to trade for the ability to buy and use Caustic Sink Launchers. Johnson and I had this plan of me going in, smash, grab and get the hell out. It was a flawless plan on paper. When I went in I had a whole ship, during my first minutein there the Caustic Generator I was trying to harvest materials from blew up on me.
The resulting explosion tore off about one third of my ship with Thargoid Caustic substance covering the entire ship and making enough of a thermal bloom a Medusa-Class Interceptor started to head towards me. I hastily made my exit with what power I could muster. It was harrowing trying to dodge the Medusa's and Thargon's weapons fire but with twelve percent hull left I got the FSD to spool up and get me back to the carrier. Unfortunately when I arrived I lost most of controls so I made a crash landing on Pad 3. The ship can be rebuilt, it will take months though but Johnson is up to the task. It just means while it's being rebuilt we can plan the mission out again, which I'm grateful for.
