Yesterday I wrote about myself. But talking about me, turns out, is only talking about the less interesting half of myself. So today I will write about the most important, definitely more interesting half: my starship!
Ain't she a beauty!?
Her name is Greedy Mamba. Why not "Greedy Python", you ask, since she's... well... a Python? I heard pythons are non-venomous snakes from old Earth (still quite deadly, though), while mambas, particularly black mambas, are reputed to actually chase people to kill them. So, mambas are much more scarier than pythons, which in turn *should* scare pirates away from me. Which sadly doesn't work as good as I thoough it would.
Fortunately this mamba has a lot of venom to spare! I outfitted her with three pulse laser guns (two size 2's and a size 3) and twin large multicannons. Enough firepower to shred anything smaller than her in seconds. She's also equipped with a large shield generator, enhanced by twin shield boosters, a chaff launcher to keep those annoying gimbals and turrets away, and a heat sink launcher for when things warm up beyond a comfortable level.
And when she can't outgun them, she can often outrun them, thanks to her big nice thrusters!
The rest of her space is dedicated to cargo. Sweet, juicy two hundred and twenty-eight tonnes of it. I've also used her to transport passengers, mine space rocks, and even bounty hunting! With a nice tweaking from a good engineer, I'm sure she would also make a quite capable explorer too.
Of all the ships I've flown so far, she's my favorite! I've also had at one time or another a Sidewinder (my very first ship as I said in my previous log entry), an Adder, a Cobra Mk. III (the Python's little sister), an Asp Explorer, and a Federal Assault Ship. But right now I only have Greedy Mamba.
One day I'll try the Anaconda for sure. And I really want to take the helm of a Federal Corvette. But even then I'm sure I'll be back to my good sexy Greedy Mamba more often than not.
