CMDR Eldrich Thames Logbook, Entry #16, November 02, 3303

Despite what I wrote in my previous entry, the prospect of making good, easy money by sweeping the LHS 2094 system's shipping lanes clean of criminal elements is simply too good to ignore. So without a second thought I hop into Gipsy Danger (my Corvette in case you haven’t read my previous entries), get my trusty fighter crew on board, and off we go!

The bounty hunting operation was coordinated by the Hallowed Chapter of LHS 2094 - a cabal of Wiccan nutjobs if you ask me - as a complementary initiative to their request for commodities necessary to organize one of their festivals. After all, if pirates steal your party goods, that would be as lame as it gets. I'm definitely not a religious person, but if you pay good money, you are free to worship the Devil if that's your thing.

Since I got the 'Vette earlier this year, I’ve managed to get almost all the gear I wanted, the only thing still pending is fitting her with reactive armor - which is ridiculously expensive by the way, way more than the ship itself!

I’ve also managed to engineer a few modules, but no Grade 5s yet, as I still have to work on my engineer access levels (a huge pain in the rear by the way… I’ll get to it eventually, of course... maybe next year).

Despite not being up to full spec and tuning just yet, Gipsy Danger is a formidable vessel. Not even battle-hardened pirate Anacondas are a match for her.

I specially love obliterating my target's power plant with a well-placed shot of her twin huge cannons (yep, you read that right; no fancy railguns or overcharged PAs, just good ol' fashioned naval firepower in those twin class 4 hardpoints!) and see them go out in a literal blaze of pain - and glory, at least for me... glory, and shiny Credits!

Gipsy's other weapons are twin medium beam lasers, twin small burst lasers, and a large multi-cannon tot ake down those targets too small and agile for the big guns - all of them gimballed (I'm not ashamed of saying that, as I'm not that good of a pilot actually... maybe if I get better I'll consider switching the lasers to fixed).

I arrived at Patterson Vision last Thursday, and spent most of the week patrolling the RESes in planets A 3 and A 4. As usual a lot of assorted scum roamed the place, harassing the miners, despite the sizable presence of system security ships. None were a match for my mildly-engineered, A-rated Fed Corvette. My pilots have done a superb job with the Condors as well, gaining a few Rank-ups during these few days.

During the weekend a good friend of mine and fellow pilot, CMDR Oren E Banard, came to the system with his Python to join the fun. I loved seeing those Packhounds of his swarming all over the place and making short work of the poor bastards caught in their sights!

On Monday night during my patrol I accidentally destroyed a Viper belonging to system security, gaining a bounty and making the other cops quite angry. I tried to explain that he got in the way of my fighter pilot and got destroyed, so it was technically his fault. They would had none of it, and I have to rush out of the system as they started firing at me. Good thing Gipsy has a nice shield and a few cell Banks just in case thing go awry.

Cooling down in a nearby system, I’ve decided to switch to a crappy Sidewinder to engineer an "unfortunate accident". After paying the insurance and the bounty, I was free to return to LHS 2094 as a redeemed man and resume my business there.

A business that ended up being very good for me...
