Colonia Galleon Project Progress Report #09As per my flight/streaming schedule, yesterday the Urca de Lima left Gagarin Gate for Polo Harbour, the sixth waypoint along the old Colonia Highway, and the final stop before Colonia itself. Departure hour was 19:36.
This stage of the journey was completed in 93 jumps totaling 3,452 Light-years’ worth of Witchspace, docking safely at Polo Harbour’s Pad 11 at 1:13 April 24, for a total travel time of 5 hours and 37 minutes.
All 608 tons onboard the Urca safe and accounted for. No interdictions.
More undiscovered bodies, as well as at least four never explored before systems by my reckoning, were found along the plotted route, discovering and/or mapping several planets of interest for potential future colonization efforts.
With this stage of the long journey complete, Colonia is literally on the horizon, sitting less than five thousand Light-years from Polo Harbour. Due to the remaining distance to traverse, however, I don’t think I’ll be able to reach Jaques in a single flight/streaming session. So the initially estimated next Thursday ETA still holds.
After around two years sitting in the conceptual/design/daydreaming stage, the Sol-Colonia half of the Colonia Galleon Project is nearly complete. It’s my hope that, by thoroughly documenting and broadcasting it, the CGP might inspire fellow Commanders out there to do similar, or even more ambitious, ventures in the future.
