Colonia Galleon Project Progress Report #15Right on schedule, the Urca left Sacaqawea Space Port on Tuesday August 18, with course set to Eudaemon Anchorage in the Rohini system, the next waypoint in my route back to the Bubble. Departure hour was 19:37.
Once again, due to the total distance to cover and the impossibility of doing it within my normal 4-hour transmission window, I had to split the journey in two, making a stopover in the Flyiedge MN-U b35-1 system at 22:30, after 2 hours and 53 minutes flight time, during which I managed to do 59 jumps for a total hyperspace distance of 2,140 light-years.
Journey to Rohini was resumed yesterday at 19:38, making the remaining 57 jumps - translating to 2,098 LY of Witchspace - in 3 hours and 53 minutes, touching down on Landing Pad 40 of Eudaemon Anchorage at 23:31.
So, for this leg of the journey the final stats are: 116 jumps totalling 4,238 Light-years of hyperspace distance, which were covered in 6 hours and 46 minutes. Upon entering Rohini a hostile contact attempted two interdictions on the Urca, having to submit-and-escape on the first one, evading successfully the next. In any case all 608 tons of cargo onboard are a bit shaken, but still fully accounted for.
The next waypoint in the CGP’s Phase 4 is Omega Mining Operation. Departure is scheduled for this Saturday, and this time we will reach it without making any stopovers - though transmission might go for a little longer than four hours.
My intention is to cover the remaining distance and finally get to Sol next week. I’m really looking forward to finally bringing the Colonia Galleon Project to a close, as it has dragged on for far too long - mostly due to factors escaping my control. I’m still glad I’m able to finish it before year’s end.
As for what are my plans after the CGP… I think this time I’m going for a long vacation leave, probably until next year. While I was eager to start planning and preparing for an actual exploration journey, the recent reveals from the Pilots Federation concerning the future of our organization has made me rethink this. I want to wait and see what we’ll get next year, and plan accordingly.
In the meantime… I think I’m going to practice my atmospheric flying skills!
