System: Hyades Sector SY-R B4-0
Body: Hyades Sector SY-R B4-0 AB 2 A
Details: During my journey to Eurybia to visit the demolitions expert Liz Ryder, I passed through the above system, which seemed normal upon my initial scan. The system contains two main sequence stars, a Class M9 VI red dwarf, and a smaller Class L9 V red dwarf. There are several high mineral content planets, and a few gas giants, but I quickly noticed that some of the smaller landable ice worlds had no one listed for first footfall. Excited at the prospect of immortalizing my name, I quickly mapped a tiny ice planet and departed on foot. My heart swelled with pride as I climbed on top of my ship and took a look around. "Let all who pass through know the mighty Clawsmodeus was first to lay footfall here!" I proclaimed. At the time, I had no idea about the truth. I spent the next half hour or so doing donuts in a massive crater, but as I was about to leave, I noticed there were several points of interest on the planet itself. A few impact sites and minor wreckage, and a set of irregular markers. I decided to check them out, and the first impact site was a satellite with some data that I downloaded.
Nothing special. However, the next impact site was not what it seemed. As I approached, I was surprised by the size and shape of it. It didn't look like an impact. It looked sort of like a facility, and as I got closer, I was able to observe some cargo crates and lights. It WAS a facility, but had been mislabeled by my scanners as an impact site. The question was, why? My musing was quickly interrupted by a notification from my ship: "WARNING. YOU HAVE ENTERED A TRESSPASS ZONE." That confirmed my last doubts. This was a secret facility of some kind. I landed my ship nearby and disembarked on foot. First I used my jetpack to climb to the top of the structure, where I was able to scout my surroundings. I'm glad I did, because I spotted two Sentry Skimmers and a Stinger-2. I took them out with my enforcer rifle, fully expecting to earn a fine, but I did not. Further exploration of the area located several cargo crates. Some of them were partially open, but nothing was interactable or able to be picked up, seeming to be only tightly packed metal barrels. The containers were marked with two different insignia, one for Vega Line Shipping, and one was Woods Haulage. The contents were unidentifiable. In front of the facility was indeed a crashed satellite, with a slow blinking red light, but no data terminal to interact with. The facility itself was trapezoidal, like a pyramid that had the top half sliced off and removed. There was no way inside, and no way to see inside. It is unknown what happens here or what purpose the facility serves. I will look into further detail concerning the incident, starting with trying to trace these shipping companies.
