Commander Jordan Walke and the Thargoid War: The Chronicles of Resistance

09 Dec 2024Jordan Walke

The return of the Thargoids changed the galaxy forever, and Commander Jordan Walke, forged in fire and tempered by adventure, found himself at the center of humanity’s desperate fight for survival. His journey through the war with the alien menace is a saga of resilience, strategy, and selflessness, as he transitioned from an explorer and mercenary to one of the most renowned anti-Thargoid commanders in the Pilot's Federation.

Missing the First Titan
When the first Thargoid Titan—Taranis—emerged in the Pleiades, Jordan was far from the Bubble, deep in uncharted space on an exobiology expedition. News of the Titan’s arrival came as a shock to him, but the frontier systems he was exploring had little connection to humanity's defenses. Frustrated by his inability to return in time, he vowed to never miss another critical moment in the war.

Upon his return, Jordan immediately refitted his two prized vessels—a Mamba and a Fer-de-Lance—for anti-Thargoid combat. The Mamba, with its sleek profile and high-speed capabilities, was named Valiant, tuned for precision strikes and long-range engagements. The Fer-de-Lance, christened Nemesis, was equipped with advanced Guardian weaponry, its hull reinforced to withstand the deadly caustic environments surrounding the Titans’ Maelstroms.

The Fight Against Titans 2 through 7
When the second Titan appeared, Jordan was ready. With the Nemesis, he plunged into the deadly maelstrom surrounding Oya, the second Titan, navigating the storm with a level of precision that few could match. The Valiant proved indispensable for hit-and-run tactics, as its blistering speed allowed him to strike Thargoid interceptors before retreating to recover from the caustic damage.

As the war escalated and more Titans emerged, Jordan became one of the few commanders skilled enough to venture into the Titans’ inner sanctums. Fighting alongside other brave pilots, he targeted the Thargoid spires that maintained the Titans’ caustic clouds, reducing their effectiveness and giving humanity a fighting chance.

His Krait Mk II, the Musashi, became his ground-assault vessel, named after the legendary samurai warrior. In the spires of the Titans, Jordan personally led planetary combat teams, deploying to destroy critical Thargoid structures. These missions were perilous, with swarms of Revenants and aggressive Thargoid ground forces constantly threatening his survival. But with the Musashi’s versatility and his crew’s unyielding determination, Jordan succeeded time and again.

The Guardian Expedition
To counter the overwhelming Thargoid threat, Jordan undertook a dangerous expedition to the ancient Guardian ruins. With the Musashi as his base, he visited multiple sites, braving hostile environments and scavenging the Guardian materials needed for humanity’s experimental anti-Thargoid weaponry.

Jordan’s crowning achievement during this phase of the war was unlocking the Guardian Relics in deep space. These massive structures, floating in the void, were puzzles left behind by a long-dead race. It took every ounce of his exploratory expertise to uncover the secrets hidden within, but the reward was invaluable: advanced Guardian hybrid weapons that allowed humanity to fight the Titans on more equal footing.

The Python Mk II: Malak
With the war stretching the galaxy’s resources thin, Jordan purchased his first Super SSD ship, a Python Mk II he named Malak. This vessel became his mobile fortress, supporting his operations across the frontlines. Equipped with heavy Guardian shard cannons, Malak was instrumental in skirmishes against Thargoid Interceptors, providing covering fire for evacuation ships and damaged stations.

The Earth Crisis and the Caedus
The appearance of the eighth Titan, Nemesis, sent shockwaves through the galaxy. Its trajectory was clear—it was heading for Earth, humanity’s cradle. The specter of humanity’s potential annihilation pushed Jordan to take on a new mission: saving lives.

He purchased a Type-8 freighter, the Caedus, designed to aid in mass evacuations from Earth and other systems under siege. For weeks, Jordan tirelessly ran rescue missions, ferrying thousands of desperate refugees to safety. Though less glamorous than his combat exploits, these efforts earned him the undying gratitude of countless displaced families.

The Hutton Orbital Campaign
While many commanders avoided Hutton Orbital, infamous for its extreme distance from Alpha Centauri’s primary star, Jordan answered the call when it came under Thargoid threat. The Thargoids’ arrival at Hutton, a symbol of humanity's perseverance, galvanized the community.

Flying the Nemesis, Jordan joined a ragtag fleet of commanders in the fight. The journey to Hutton alone was an ordeal, but he knew the station’s survival was critical. The battles around Hutton became legendary, with Jordan and his allies holding the line against overwhelming odds.

In one of the campaign’s most harrowing moments, Jordan’s Fer-de-Lance sustained catastrophic damage while taking down a Medusa-class Interceptor. Refusing to abandon the fight, he launched from Hutton’s repair facilities in the Valiant, continuing to defend the station until the Thargoids finally retreated.

A Legend Among Commanders
Commander Jordan Walke’s role in the Thargoid war is a testament to the spirit of resilience that defines the Pilot’s Federation. From the stormy maelstroms of the Titans to the ancient ruins of the Guardians, from Earth’s evacuation to the distant reaches of Hutton Orbital, he stood where others faltered. His ships—the Valiant, Nemesis, Musashi, Malak, and Caedus—became symbols of hope in a galaxy at war.

Now, as the Thargoid threat looms ever larger, Jordan prepares for the next chapter of his odyssey. The galaxy may change, but one thing remains constant: Commander Walke will always rise to the challenge.
