The Little Ship That Could: Bombing Titan Cocijo

13 Dec 2024Jordan Walke
The gleaming Cobra Mk V, freshly christened, emerged from hyperspace above the battered cradle of humanity. Cmdr Jordan Walke, privateer, adventurer, and self-proclaimed space cowboy, leaned back in his cockpit chair, the curve of a sly grin forming as Earth came into view.

What should have been the shining beacon of human civilization was now marred by the Thargoid incursion. Great swathes of the surface glowed with scorched devastation, broken only by the shadows of the mega-evacuations still underway. Walke’s knuckles tightened on the flight controls as he guided the Invisible Hand’s bay doors to release the Cobra Mk V into space, his desire to avenge the fallen fueling the fire in his veins.

The Cobra Mk V, sleek and unassuming, seemed almost laughable compared to the larger craft that typically braved the maelstroms of the Titans. It carried only two anti-AX missile racks and a single torpedo launcher, its humble armament hardly the stuff of legends. But for Cmdr Walke, it was about more than firepower—it was about nerve, precision, and a style that shouted to the galaxy, “The bigger they are, the harder I’ll make them fall!”

As the Cobra banked past Earth's devastation, Jordan let out a low whistle, his usual banter falling silent. He didn’t need words to express the resolve gripping him. The devastation was a call to action, a challenge to the few brave—or insane—enough to answer. Jordan Walke was both. His devil-may-care demeanor hid a steely determination to show that even a small ship could bring down a Titan.

Into the Heart of Cocijo
The mission was clear: fly into the storm, unload every missile in his arsenal, and come back in one piece. Cocijo loomed ahead, its monstrous form encased in the swirling chaos of its maelstrom. It radiated menace, a Thargoid titan surrounded by a choir of swirling caustic storms and corrosive green energy. The Cobra Mk V trembled slightly as Jordan pushed through the storm wall, the hull groaning under the strain of the corrosive environment.

“Alright, baby, let’s give them something to remember,” Jordan muttered, his voice carrying a cocky bravado even as his hands moved with precision across the controls. The Cobra weaved past interceptors and scout-class Thargoids, the ship’s speed and small profile keeping it just out of range of their deadly pincers and caustic blasts.

With a flick of a switch, the first missile rack roared to life. Guided anti-AX missiles streaked toward Cocijo, exploding in bursts of fiery vengeance against the Titan’s biomechanical armor. Jordan’s grin grew wider as he lined up shot after shot, emptying the second missile rack with flawless precision. Each explosion chipped away at Cocijo’s shield of invincibility, revealing the vulnerable core beneath.

The moment of truth came as the torpedo launcher locked on. "This one's for Earth," he muttered. The torpedo streaked forward, its trail of white-hot fire disappearing into Cocijo’s mass. A seismic explosion erupted from within the Titan, sending a shockwave rippling through the storm. The Titan let out an otherworldly shriek as its massive form faltered.

Jordan’s cheers filled the cockpit. “How’s that for a Cobra’s bite, huh?” he laughed, guiding the ship into a series of celebratory rolls as Cocijo crumbled behind him.

The Return Home
Despite the storm’s corrosive wrath and Cocijo’s furious swarms, Jordan brought the Cobra Mk V out of the maelstrom without a scratch. A feat many would dismiss as impossible for such a small ship was now a tale worthy of the stars.

As he docked the Cobra back onto the Invisible Hand, the ship’s hull gleamed as if it had merely taken a casual joyride instead of braving a Titan. Jordan leaned back in his chair, pulling out a bottle of Lavian Brandy to toast his success. "Another one for the books," he smirked.

Word would spread quickly of Cmdr Jordan Walke and his daring bombing of Titan Cocijo in a humble Cobra Mk V. For him, it wasn’t just about the fight—it was about showing that courage and daring could topple even the most colossal foes.

His next target? Wherever the Thargoids dared to strike next, Jordan Walke would be there, defying the odds with his signature charm and swagger. After all, what’s life in the void without a little danger?
