DEC 9 3304Just hours ago, my superiors confirmed what I had previously been warned to prepare for. Our sources - embedded with each of the major factions' Pleiades fleet commands - have all independently verified that the Thargoids are ready to deploy a new offensive strategy. By these reports, what we have dealt with until now are mere skirmishes in comparison to the planned assault. Our inhabited space will be changed forever!
I 'm modestly confident in my preparations; I have spent long days and nights picking up odd jobs from all over this sector to build up a small war chest. I have a Gunship down in the hangar that just got shipped in from the bubble - - freshly engineered. Let's just hope the Federation and Empire keep their insurance companies afloat, as I undoubtedly will have use for that in the near future. The Alliance is only good for moral support, and in this situation I don't think that's going to be a big help.
Despite the preparations I have made, I am still very unsettled about all this. I'm just an odds-and-ends pilot - - I'm no fighter! I don't actually have a burning desire to save humanity, and I hardly have any antipathy towards the Thargoids. All I know is that if I wish to live, flying around the bubble and pretending like nothing is happening will only delay the inevitable.
