Repairs in the Rosetta Nebula

It seems somewhat absurd to think that last time I had some time for myself it was about 5000 light years from where I'm sitting now. I won't complain about the absurd anyway, it seems to only enhance the beauty of the place and the exhilaration of being here.As I'm registering this entry I'm looking out of the my cabin's porthole, the Rosette Nebula covers most of the sky and, with its red hues, provides the perfect contrast for the blue/violet light of NGC 2244 CDZ 157. Just below the nebula I see WukongQuan's Krait, catching the light from the star, a repair limpet moving around the hull, occasionally dazzling me when the harsh light of the star hits it from certain angles.
I'm still a bit shaky for our last scare, WukongQuan's brush with the black hole lurking in the corona of this system's main star. It's always an harrowing experience when things like this happen to a friend while sharing a journey in deep space: there is nothing you can do to help, you can just listen over comms to your friend dealing with the emergency, not even talking as not to distract him and make things even worse. Good thing WukonQuan was able to keep things under control and navigate out of the hazardous area taking mostly damage that is repairable out here with our own means.
The Nodus Tollens needs some repairs as well. A few systems back I jumped into a close ternary system and a glitch in my frame-shift drive made me drop out of hyperspace in the middle of the stars. The ship took quite a lot of heat, luckily the power plant coped fine. I already did a check up of vital systems and started a few routines on the auto field maintenance unit.
Considering that we never ventured this far, we are in great shape anyway, and morale is good. Our job here is done, we gathered all the materials we needed and we have some time to deliver the data we were tasked to acquire. Still, I'm not in a hurry to get back and we already discussed our options for a few detours on the way back.
For the time being it's time to go and check on the repairs work, have a shower, and get some rest.
