DW2: Log 4 - xenobiology hunting

29 Jan 2019Tannhäuser
As a xenobiologist on this expedition, my main goal is to find biologicals. We have some clues and discoveries, especially for brain trees, bark mounds and anenomes. So I choose to focus on tubers and collard pods.
Went to see some tubers found by another CMDR and impressive they are too: Roseum sinuous tubers at Nyeajaae DA-Z a27-2

Thence a short stop at Rohini, where there is a large industrial complex also. Not a lot to do there unless you are a hacker though.

I headed 'down' out of the busy areas for a scanning run, but found it slim pickings, dull systems many with no planets. I filtered for likely systems but even then, poor.
Despite looking for tubers, what I actually found were anenomes, and some atmospheric spots too.

Eventually made it to the Quantum World, a tiny planetoid. Here you can have a lot of fun 'flying' an SRV. Probably possible to make it to orbit or circumnavigate this one. Full pips to engines I was certainly able to keep her in the air.... and land her on the Edge Case.

Not long after that, heading up towards Conflux Settlements, I landed a doozy at Flyiedgiae FB-X e1-6. Not sure if this is a record, but 5 planets with biologicals (anenomes). Landed several times but they were all the same type (B/V star, Blatteum Bioluminescent Anemone)

A couple of systems later I also found found Roseum anenomes at Nyeajaae HC-U e3-30.

Unfortunately, I was a bit careless in landing at one of the biologicals here on a 2.2G world.  10% hull... so a rapid dash back to Rohini for repairs means I now have to slog it through relatively congested space to the Conflux meetup. Some good exploration done though.

Still not found any collard pods and to be frank, no idea where to look. Any advice welcome.
