Bug Killing - a First

Well well well. The Holidays are over. I really hope everyone had a good time. It was fun for me. Spent some time with friends/family on Sol that I haven't seen since the last ones. Anyway, enough of the mushy bull poo.
Here's what happened since the last report:
New Years light show at a Thargoid enclave. The run was a success with purdy lights swirling all around the chamber. We started to pack it up and head out but had another group of company pilots arrive (we may not always be on time, but, sooner or later, we do get there). So, since we now knew what we was doing: and to give them the same experience, we decided to do it again. I guess it was not the right thing to do? No lights - The machine got real angry. The ground was shaking. Noises I've never heard before. Waited until it was all over, for our own safety. Needless to say, when it finished, we got the hell out of there. But, not before shooting a scavenger or two that were in the way.
I've been told it's NOT our fault.
Thargoids came back.
I've seen one, a long time ago, and never dealing with them, I ran.
This time, I was talked into combat with them. GALNET had said they was active in the Witch Head area. So, loaded up the Type-10 M4 SHERMAN and started the 800+ly trip. Once we arrived, my partner headed to the rescue station to help with the evac. I would've helped, but like I said, I was loaded for hunting, not transport.
I did do a couple laps around the station. It was not a purdy sight. Fire and smoke, ships in pieces everywhere. Other ships were looking ok going into the station to get the folks out - but smoking or on fire when exiting. Then there was the real heros - the ones that saw what the other ships coming out looked like - they went in. Only to never come out. It started to piss me off.
So - what does someone like me do? I went to the other Megaship that was in the section handling the fight against the thargoids. I did my part - Want to know more? I took out a total of 137 scouts. There were all kinds - Marauder, Berserker, Inciter and Regenerators. Not bad for someone who has never fought them before. I could fight the scouts and come out on top. Damaged and broken, but fixable.
GalNet says that the battle is over. But, you can still find them in signal sources if you really want to wipe them out. I would, but, the company I work for has a big event coming up in a few days.
We are not going to talk about what happened to the Vette that I ordered to be delivered to help with taking out a Medusa during the fight. Or the good looking female that was taking care of the SLF's that was with me. I'll just say that I also ordered Clark Lewis, my ASPx, out to Witch Head for a quicker trip home, and it was lonely coming back to the bubble.
Back in the bubble. Rest/Repair/Refit.
Schedule for the next few days:
In about 10 hours, some company pilots are going to check one more Thargoid location to for any activity.
On the 14th, major Repair/Refit to all items at home base. Should be interesting to see how the money wrenches mess this one up.
On the 16th, large company operation planned.
