One day. That's it. One day short of three months. It's over. Operation HOT-MESS is complete. I can't believe it. 55,000+ Mugs delivered to 20,000+ systems. 300+ Truckers.
Having to work thru War, Civil Unrest, Pirate Attacks, Famine, Lockdowns, Thargoids. Just naming some of the unsavery situations that had to be worked thru - just to sell 1 Hutton Mug at a station. And then, can't forget Infrastructure Failure causing a halt in mug production. Plus, the general call out for Commanders to attend the annual briefing, in addition, to testing the new Fleet Carriers, was NOT any help in completing the operation.
Seeing ships in various locations in various conditions (some shiny, some in pieces). A mug being dropped from one ship and another manually scooping it up. Other ships dropping large amounts and limpets running around everywhere, so the operation could continue. It was a sight to behold.
I was there at the start of the operation, defending the first group of commanders in my Type-10. I was the LAST COMMANDER to make a delivery to complete the operation. For that, Descartes Landing in 21 Arietis will forever hold a special place in my heart. That place was a *&%^*&#%.
A special thank you goes to CMDR Simon Winnard. Without your willingness to detour from your activities and travel to al-Din Prospect to give up a few mugs, due Hutton Orbital being off line with Infrastructure Failure - for a second time, I wouldn't have been able to make the last few deliveries. Thank you, again, Commander - FTM o7.
Now that I've had a few days to recover, still trying to decide what is next. I know I've got some engineering work to do. Need to do a little mining to restock the bank account. Need to look after my fleet - get things sorted and ships/modules placed back where they should be. Need to restock on materials.
All I know for sure is, I don't have to do anything. What I do next is up to me.
What are my priorities? What needs to be done?
Do I just say forget it, get in the ASP and point it in a direction - what direction?
Do I need to just get away? Make contact only via Comms Panel?
See systems without the trails of other ships?
Or, do I just say the *$&%^*& with it all - make one more trip to Hutton Orbital - find Cecil, hit the bar for some Centauri Mega Gin - stay for a week, and decide later?
Decisions, decisions, decisions.
