Salvation to Kaushpoos

Took the Salvation to Kaushpoos to claim my 3mil payment for cargo hauling last week. Spent the money on mining equipment and jumped over to 38 Lyncis for some Palladium mining. The different colors of the bands within planetary rings definitely indicate different types of asteroids and by extension different types of mineable materials.My first drop landed me amongst brown, craggy, "rocky" looking asteroids, and the minerals found within were not what I was looking for. I frame-shifted out of there and super-cruised around to the inner rings where there was a thin band of bright white. I landed in there and found myself amongst tan-red smaller asteroids clustered more closely together, and they had a bit of a glossy sheen to them. Turns out they are mostly made of metals, and so after a bit of a learning curve with the prospector and collector limpets, I was able to mine about 9 tons of palladium, along with some miscellaneous other metals.
After handing in my finds, I am in the top 66% of participants, which will net me a 5mill payout if my position holds. The goal ends in around 20 hours, so I might make one more run tonight if time permits.
