I've been back in Delkar for a few days now. Touched down at Invergary and havent put on the flight suit for a while now, and I love it. Feels good to take some time off, get the shore leave under my belt and relax. Last week or two have been hectic, the War, the trading and the few thousand light year trips too and from the Engineers can take a lot out of a man. Dont get me wrong, definitely not feeling any of the weight some of the Old Guard talk about, not yet at least. Lapp Conflict was something that needed to happen, and it feels good to be apart of getting the FRC expanding into other systems. I was at the end of the Delkar conflict so my contributions mean little, at least to me, when it comes to that. But Lapp.....Lapp was mine, and it was something I will remember forever.Just good to take some down time before it gets to me.Sleeping in the Gambits quarters is nice and the Maelstroms chair is comfortable when needed, but there is nothing like sleeping on an actual mattress in your home system, surrounded by allies and the knowledge tbat it is your home.
Already feeling it though, that twitchy, excited feeling you get when looking out the ports and into darkness. The Gambit and Maelstrom keeping calling, and once they are fixed and fueled the action will begin. Fedmich still needs people for cleanup, and another Ancient Site was found. Who knows whats on the Horizon? Universe is jumping at the thought of another Thargoid attack, but here, in Delkar, we are on the way to expanding once more. It feels good to be apart of a team of amazing Commanders and to be respected by those who are so much higher than me. My dreams of reaching Sol get closer everyday, and soon, Ill get there. After that? Who knows......but the wild expanse is calling.
