New Titles and Long Days

What a day it's been. Last night was intense to a degree I didn't think was possible after the Lap conflict. Got back to base last night and was met by my Wing Leader. I've fought beside the man for months, gotten amazing advice, and have had help updating the Maelstrom but still, every time he comes around the corner, its a shock and a surprise. That's the case with ALL the FRC Leadership though. He pulls me aside, and with a smile hands me a cloth covered box. It's nothing special, a few inches long by a few wide, made of some rich dark wood and pretty light. "Uhhh, Sir, what is this....?"
"Just open it Reclaimer, its for a job well done"
I slowly open the tab, and inside are three things I didn't expect to be there. Ribbons. Three of them. One Combat, One Relief and One Research.
"For distinguished service during the war in Lapannodaya, I'd like to present you with this. Wear it with pride commander, you earned it"
I don't know what to say.....The war was finished only a few weeks ago, and even then I didn't do much. I just stuck by Y's side, stayed close to Vipers ass and plugged anyone who tried to take em both out. Did I even deserve this honor?? I salute and nod because it's the only thing I can think to do at this point.
"T--thank you sir. I will"
Looking at the three ribbons now I can't help but smile. It's not every day that your Wing Leader grants you with such gifts. I guess it means I'm doing something right.

Chief Journalist
My shiny new title
The week keeps looking up. Not only have I finished a huge mission in Fedmich, with one more to go I might add, and have gotten a rather hefty payday, I have also been.....Promoted I guess. It doesn't come with much, just more work, but it needs to be done. GalNet is fine, but they aren't on the front lines, they aren't with us when everything happens, and they certainly don't know what it means to be a pilot. So the FRC created our own. I'm the first to start and as of this moment, I report directly to the Leadership. It's hectic, and I'm always on the look out for something to happen, but it's completely worth it. The FRC needs someone in their corner, especially with the year they-----we I guess----have had. The news of what is going on in Delkar and the surrounding systems needs to get out, and hell, it might as well be from the people who are actually there. The GBC are in our corner as well, so we won't be doing it alone, which makes me a feel a little better. At least I know that SOMEONE will read what we are saying. For now, I am going to put the Freedom (my new Keelback) in her hanger, and shut down for the night.
Who knows what tomorrow will bring.
Chief Journalist, Cmdr Mythic, signing off from Invergary......Yeah---I like the sound of that.
