Sleeplessness.

I find myself drifting through uninhabited space. Without the constant notifications, radio beeps, and noises of the busy stations or GalNet, I find it hard to sleep. Maybe I've just become accustomed to the rather lavish (at least by comparison) captain's quarters in the Anaconda and Python class ships. Hell, even my Type-7 and Type-6 had a more amenities. Life in the Diamondback is the modern version of "Roughing it" I read about in history classes when I was a child, where people of the 20th and 21st century would take their families into a forested area with only a primitive "tent" made from thin fabric, and bare necessities like food and water for a few days. I don't see the appeal. I miss my large bed and shower on Erza... I laid in bed pondering if I should go back, but then, seemingly against my own will, I rolled out of my bunk. I climbed into my chair. I plotted a course and like some sort of shipping drone, I put more distance between myself and known space. I traveled another 300-400 LY. I wasn't keeping track. I don't remember if I discovered any new worlds. I just remember waking up in my bunk hours later to find myself 1800 LY from Sol. It felt like a dream, but it clearly wasn't. I feel a little more refreshed now at least. I've plotted a course toward the Lagoon Nebula. I'll see what there is to see on my trip towards the core.Oh yeah, I think I must have overheated my ship at some point... some of my modules are slightly damaged now. Whoops.
