Log-Entry: Payday

I keep saying it, mainly because it continues to hold true... But this gig with Sirius is the best damn decision I've made since becoming a CMDR. Few events over the course of my entries so I'ma recap in this one log.My efforts in Luyten's Star had not gone unnoticed and the Sirius Corporation branch local to the Sirius system itself! I've officially gotten a permit to visit the system whenever I damn well please. That's a step forward! Exclusive access to a star system, I am now desirable traffic! To honor this occasion I decided to use all the funds Sirius Corporation gave me from the work I put in to purchase a Diamondback Scout! A memento of the system because unfortunately the Sirius system itself is a ways off from my A.O in the Independent sectors. It will serve as a good system to retire in after this gig with Sirius blows over, or If I just need to find a system to lay low in... I'm sure the Sirius Corp can hook me up with some nice digs aboard the stations in system. The Diamondback however will be a useful addition to my fleet, I call it the Envoy! Long-range vessel with a cargo hold to carry 20t worth of goods, so far I've used it to move Sirius franchise packages to systems designated for expansion or dropped off industrial equipment to system clusters already under SiriusGov control.
Enough of that, time to talk about my first payday with the Sirius Corporation. Something I've learned? Sirius checks don't bounce, no matter how big they are. How big we talking? Thity damn million credits... Whew! That's when you know Sirius meant business when it came to having the honors of hosting this galactic summit. I put in the work to raise my paygrade on this little data gathering contest Sirius put on. Originally I was expecting to end this contract on a paycheck worth just eight million credits... That much I was expecting to be a useful injection of money... But I kept putting in some work, kept donating wake scan data and I managed to land in the top 25% echelon of CMDRs and started expecting a sixteen million paycheck... Even better, right? Well just an hour out we CMDRs supporting Sirius collectively contributed 12.5m units of data! Clearing us for Tier 3 payment and netting me a phat, juicy and sturdy stack of credits! Thirty Million! How am I gonna spend that? Those Hippies in "Utopia" Only met Sirius halfway! They're dupes didn't paid nowhere as much as we got. That's a good sign that I've signed on with the right side, the wealthy one that wins.
So bought a Diamondback for my celebration on getting the Sirius permit. How do I celebrate this?... Well, Bought a Keelback!
I need me a strong combat vessel... My Cobra MkIII Is good and all, but I wanted something more, something cost-effective but dangerous. A Keelback seemed to be my calling! Being able to mount a Fighter Bay at the expense of cargo space is a payoff I'm willing to take to have another option to take on any tango I'm on grid with. This whole thing is tricked out! Top of the line powerplant, power distributors, frame shift drive - And I got room for 16 passengers working on a budget and bay for a buggie to use for planetside side ops, something I've needed to take into consideration if I wanna prove to Sirius I'm flexible and capable... I'll need to get used to working on the ground as much as I am good in space.
Wanna know the best part? Didn't even spend any of my payday on this keelback.... Nope! this new vessel is entirely paid with my work hauling basic medical supplies in bulk to a system on the fringes of Sirius space under siege by an outbreak of some viral disease. With a Type-6 fitted for straight-forward cargo ops, hauled medication back and forth, 1 jump each - for about 441k Profit each trip... Can't hate on that! Was running that job in the background while I've been waiting on this paycheck to fall though. Get some extra money on hand to play with.
So I hadn't even broke into this massive paycheck yet! I can hold onto it for now, Or find another vessel worth investing into... Still got this keelback to break in first. I just gotta give it a name... And find a pilot for that fighter.
