Holidaying in the stars.

09 Jul 2016Gracey Field
Well it's been a while but I'm in dire need of a holiday. So I've sold my combat ( kept a few for defence, you never know what you'll find in the black) and hauling modules. Set my Python up for exploration. I know she's not the best of ships for exploration but she's my favourite ship and I figure when I need to stretch my legs she is roomier than an asp.

With no real destination in mind I just scrolled down and away from my home station and picked a destination within fuel range and a final stop with a scoopable star.

My original plan was to scan and tag the untagged (get my name out there) but after a day or two I realised that is not going to pay the bills, well not with icy rocks being the only thing that seemed to be untagged. Now I'm scanning the major bodies and stars along with picking the most economical route I am well on my way to making a decent profit and list of discoveries on my return.

To be honest I thought it would be REALLY boring but once you get out of civilised space and you aren't getting harassed by pirates and profiteers trying to get a name for themselves it's quite relaxing.

Still don't like sleeping in space and would rather land on a little moon or recently discovered plant before turning in for the night/day depending which side you land on I do like to collect little souvenirs from my recently discovered worlds (rocks, metal nuggets, etc).

It's worrying sometimes when you realise you are not actually the first Cmdr to visit this newly discovered world, as whilst driving around you find the crashed wreck of some unfortunate Cmdr who has visited before you but for some reason didn't make it off again. His work however was not in vain as I collected his remains, someone might be missing them.

Anyway I'm off for a sleep before returning to the black and exploration
