Day 4.

While I was contemplating going back to the bubble to see how much money I've made for the exploration data I've collected, given I'm more than 900 LY from Sothis, I've decided that I'm just being a wuss about it all and will continue to push on for the next 3 days.  At the start of this entry, I'm still in the Syneufe RG-K B42 system, heading to Star 2 as it's 400K LS from the warp in point.

Yeah, it's another exploration clean up from the last pilot that hit the main star only and then moved on.

Yeah. I'm hitting more than 700 C in the void between Star 1 and Star 2.

Yeah, I'm tuned into some Electro Swing to help along with curbing the space madness that comes from all this warping in and warp out that I've been doing as I'm heading to the end point of my current plot.

I've been hitting more rogue Jovian planets at odd angles to the orbital planes of the insertion stars in question.  Which is odd, given that I'm outside of the last sphere of influence a couple of days ago.

Checking the Galactic News this morning, I see there's been more sightings of alien wreckage sites, some of them even with the Synuefe Sector.  Pity though, the closest of the reports puts it at almost 350 LY from my current location.  Pilot's Net has been abuzz about the discovery of anaerobic life on some of the moons inside and outside of The Bubble.  It would be nice to be part of that division of exploring strange new worlds...  Though at the moment, I'm satisfied with my solitude and the panoramic views of the galaxy as I'm looking for my first Earth-like planet to stamp my name on it.  I would like to see one of those Earth-like planets turn into a moon for some of these Jovian monstrosities.  That way those explorers looking for Earth-likes in the CHZ will learn that it pays to check all planets, not just the ones within the Goldilock's Zone.

The good news is that in this last set of coordinates, I've found 1 terraformable planet.  The better news is that it was not in the Goldilock's Zone.  And while it also wasn't a moon of some Jovian world, at least it's the sort of thing that those that only remember their remedial Astrophysics courses.  I've also found a couple of handfuls of Heavy Metal Planets and a slew of moons that contain the sort of materials that are required for engineering work on our ships.

Anyway, I'm through with this leg of surveying.  Off to enjoy some down time while I make up my mind whether to return to Sothis, HIP 33368 or continue for another leg of surveying.

I'll close this entry with this shot, taken of one of the many Heavy Metal Worlds I've scanned through my leg of this exploration mission. While it's a Heavy Metal World, it's one of several that are candidates for a Terraforming Project. Taken from the probe launch marking it for further examination by the Terraforming Team, with the Eiriksson not looking too bad for 960 LYs out from Newholm Station 4 days later.
