Log 22 02.03.3303 - Whoever says the ASPX is better than the DBX for Exploration

...needs their head examined and sectioned. Seriously, I took a hit to my account of almost 750K credits, but you know what? It's a lesson well spent. The ASP Explorer is quite the piece of junk.
Where do I begin with my vitriol on this ship?
First, it's not the sort of ship a deep space explorer would want to take into the deep black even with an AFMU installed. Wear and tear on the hull is exorbitantly expensive. I spent more on wear and tear repairs traveling from Deciat (after performing the same modifications on thrusters and FSD (581.53 LY) than I did traveling from Synuefe BT-G b44-0 to Sothis (1155.0 LY) in my Diamondback Explorer.
Next, it had a shorter Jump range of 24.97 LY compared to the Eiriksson's 31.19 LY, which means I was jumping more in it than in the Eiriksson.
It ran significantly hotter than the Eiriksson. I was averaging 65% during vs. 63% for the same amount of fuel scooped during the run around any KGB*FOAM eligible star.
During Low-Wake flights inner system, I was looking at 29% in the ASPX vs. 22% in my DBX.
Then there was this annoying shimmy that often happened while the ASPX was speeding up in order to Low or High Wake, which was the indicator of acceleration. As opposed to the DBX which inherently felt like it should as one was being slowly pushed into their seat.
While the Cessna-like sound wasn't as noticeable on my ship, there was this high-pitched whine that was going on regardless of what speed I was traveling. It was enough that I wanted to drive spikes into my ears in order to make it stop.
On the bright side, it was nice to get over the sometimes claustrophobic cockpit of the DBX. It's the sort of area one would expect to actually be performing surveying in. And this is the only positive thing I could possibly say about this monstrosity of a piece of junk.
Overall, I don't know what possessed Lakon Spaceways to make this line of ships other than to take money from Commanders and Aspiring pilots that don't know what to do with that money. It's big, it works well enough within the bubble. But in the deep black? You have to be insane to want something that can wear down to nothing in no time flat.
