Current System:  Vela Dark Region BB-W b2-9

Day: 3

I spoke too soon when it came to the Honk & Jump systems that I thought was coming to an end.  As I was finishing up my cut through of the Col 173 Sector, it seems that they returned with some extremely familiar patterns...  Like the star was scanned and then the first and last planet leaving everything in between not scanned.

The current system I'm idling in at the moment it seems that all the planets have been scanned, but none of the moons..  Ugh...  I might leave that for someone with more patience or sometime after I take a quick nap before continuing.  We'll see how I feel about this system in about an hour.

I came across an interesting conundrum during the last portion of surveying Col 173. Admittedly it wasn't the first time I saw it, but it was the first time it caught my eye.  Seems that planet #1 had a 100% Sulphur Dioxide atmosphere.  Now, as I understood it from chemistry class -- this is a naturally forming compound from high volcanic activity on a planet.  Except for this planet -- the detailed surface scans indicated No Volcanism.

It's a pity I don't have the required hazardous environmental equipment on this mission. I would love to check out what was causing this planet side. Although I suspect there might be a problem with the cartographic database as a wing-mate in another part of the galaxy recorded an Argon rich planet that had only 1% Argon in the atmosphere.  The majority of the gasses in the atmosphere were in fact Nitrogen.

I'll be looking forward to handing these in.. These two days I found a lot of High Metal and Terraformable worlds.
