Entry 52 - 07.22.3303

22 Jul 2017MBaldelli
Current System: Wredguia IA-Y c14-0

I can't seem to shake the feeling that I've turned from Deep Space Explorer, going where no one has gone before to Welcome to the Pilot's Guild, the last, best hope to make a quick buck. Take for example Wredguia XD-K d8-93; there were 18 objects within that system. 11 of them were HMCs, several of them were Terraforming Candidates and a Water World. All of which were scanned by another commander. I scanned them all and am expecting a big payout for this. And what's worse is that I'm feeling as though I'm sacrificing my morals for Deep Space Exploring in order to make that money for the next ship I'm wanting to try out. So I'm hoping in the next couple of days I'm going to have to swallow my rather strong sense of morality and pride and simply go about my business until such time as I find myself in areas where I'm the only ship doing the scanning for hundreds of Light Years.

According to my odometer, I'm passed the 500 LY mark and from this point, I'm going to be looking for various airless rocks to perform some light mining for materials for Engineering work as well as the necessary materials for the AFMU just in case. Hopefully I won't be fumbling through landings and what not like I did during the training back in the Academy.

That's about it for the time being. I'm not going to be keeping track of the days I'm out in the Deep Black. The 17 day assignment didn't take a serious hit to my account for repairs and restorations and this time I'm going to try to stay out longer.
