Current System: Sol, M. Gorbachev StationContrary to the data log transmissions to Inara (which seem to be delayed by a day), I am eligible for promotion within the Federation Navy to Warrant Officer. While I was zipping around the realm; I did notice that there are a lot of missions for the Federation Navy which would assist in my getting that promotion; unfortunately I lacked the local factional reputation to accept those missions. Hoping there would be something within Sol that would help, there wasn't so I'll have to check the mission boards tomorrow and hope there will be something there for me to push my rank up before the end of the weekend.
This weekend, I'll be hooking up with an independent pilot currently stationed out of the Tchehen System to try my hand at a little asteroid mining. I'm looking forward as I'm curious to see whether the Zheng He can handle being an all-purpose vehicle more than the Leif Eiriksson. While I might not want to take the Zheng He into combat at the present time, I do think it might be better suited for just about everything else in some capacity.
We've been corresponding for a while, him trying to recruit for his modest wing and me being who I am; curious as to finding a group of people to talk with while I continue to rank up my exploration credentials and spending inordinate amounts of time out in the Deep Black. With this expedition, we'll each get a feeling how we operate and see if it's a good fit or not.
So unlike yesterday where I had hoped to go down to Earth for the night and ending up being re-routed to Duamta, today I'm going down to Earth. Today, I feel like I earned it.
Tomorrow? I'll cross my fingers and hope to get that promotion job I'm looking for...
