Current System: Newholm Station, SothisI decided to take a detour as Tchehen was closer to where I currently was than Sothis. In making this detour to Crook Port to swap out the AFMU and SRV Bay for Cargo Pods as well as perform the necessary touch-up on the pain and structural repairs before zooming out to Newholm Station to hand in my survey work.
Boy, let me tell you two occupants of the escape pods were rather surprised to see Federal Police standing there when they were revived as they were in fact criminals that were fleeing justice. Their mixed look of relief for being saved and disappointment from being clapped in irons was definitely a missed photo opportunity. Didn't care enough to determine whether what they were wanted for was what I saw at the crash site or not; the fact that they left the staging area with handcuffs on was enough for me.
The remaining four were Imperial Officers that didn't have any wants or warrants against them and were almost immediately booking passage back to Imperial Space. They did thank me for rescuing them however, and did inquire about a fifth escape pod. I told them that there were only four when I arrived on the scene and surmised that the fifth might have exploded just prior to my arrival front supercruise. While they were shaking hands with me, I realized that it made the entire effort worthwhile. Enough so that if it happens again, I won't hesitate to do so if I have the cargo room.
