Entry 99 - 10.02.3303

02 Oct 2017MBaldelli
Current System: Wregoe RU-E c25-21

The return date's been set:  24, October, 3303

The course plotting also set:  Eta Carinea Star.  Just under 7,999 LY from Tchehen.  About 370+ jumps based on the Zheng He's current configuration.

This should be more than enough space in order for my invitation to Professor Palin to come through.  Strange that he's looking for distances like Farseer and Martuuk but only does the work on thrusters and the FSD without the need for the astro-cartographic data.  Sure, I can sell it to him, but that's neither here nor there when I'm currently out here in the middle of nowhere.

While it's good that I can plot massive amounts of distance -- distances like from Tjindjin to Colonia -- it's still entirely too automatic for the likes of me. All computer driven and decided. Not something that could be clicked, dragged, changed to either go toward the ceiling or toward the basement of the Milky Way. But who am I to complain? It's not as though we're still limited to 1,000 LY travels with the frequent failed messages we can get if it goes over that distance.

I'm not expecting much diversity with the star systems I'm surveying. This is Wregoe and Col 173 sectors after all; a nicely mundane and sedate sector of space to be doing survey work. Although one system -- Wregoe RU-E c25-21 -- if the stars weren't all over the place, the planets (and especially the gas giants) definitely were.

I look forward to more leisurely surveying.
