Entry 119 - 05.26.3304 Day 3 of the Credit Booster Week

Current System:  Ceos

Day three of the credit booster week and this is what my requirements for The Dweller and Lei Cheung looks like:

It was refreshingly fun to do this through these days as I was able to get to see and interact with people on stations that I've been to (but never personally dealt with as a Deep Space Explorer).  I might not be happy with the thought of transporting -- let alone -- delivering illicit cargo to.

The first time was a complete mistake.  While I was doing the Multi-Hop runs from system to system, I ended up in Archon Delaine's area of space and was transporting personal weapons to a station.  The system's Nav Beacon was informing me that these personal weapons were safe cargo, but the instant I came out of surpercruise near the destination, the illicit cargo lights were lit and I  was forced to run through the mail slot in Silent Running and leg it to my landing pad.

I didn't escape the fines; but I was able to off-load the personal weapons to the Black Market for a cool 1.2 million credits profit.

I spent most of the day finishing up the requirements for receiving the invitation to meet with The Dweller.  Of course, giving my stubbornness coupled with my wonky family luck, I did it the hardest way possible:  visiting every USS that my ship would cut across.

I can't begin to tell you how many systems let alone how many random USS signals.  What I came across though was interesting:

A good majority of them were materials collections.  Not at all a bad thing given the amount I can now collect since the space requirements for them have significantly improved.

A handful of them were cargo dispersion patterns that I forgot to scan the cargo vessel for the various embedded signals that they have stashed in their broadcasts.

A few of them black market canisters that gave me a moment of relief as I came one step closer to that invitation.

Some of them were disasters and ship explosions involving Rescue Teams trying to clear up the wreckage and find any survivors.  I didn't realize that the payments for performing search & rescue and legal salvage information.  And those salvage operations turned out to be pretty damned lucrative for the simple operation that I had performed.

Another one of them turned out to be an illegal salvage operation that had me concerned about pilfering from because while the rescue team was on the fringes of the destruction the main ship -- the Anaconda -- was right on top of the illegal cargo.

So like a raccoon trying to pull food from the cave of a bear (or panther), there I was sneaking up to some canister in the hopes of getting away without a firefight. I won't try to draw it out like some action writer, though I did it; even if the sudden adrenaline rush was enough to prepare for the worst.

And when I docked at O'Brien Vision, Sirius, turned in my illegal cargo and took payment, that's when I got my invitation to meet with The Dweller.
