Entry 119 - 05.29.3304 Day 6 Trade Credit Boost Week

Current System:  Sothis

It has been a whirlwind work week since the last entry and my returning to service.  First, I got into the cockpit of the Buccaneer to do the necessary cargo hauling from station to station to station to get the necessary requirements through for getting an invitation from Lei Cheung.  While it wasn't a given that it would be coming in when I completed it.  Because I wasn't expecting the invitation, given the excitement of seeing 500K+ per run from station to station, coupled with my unfamiliarity with  ground crews that specialize in shipping & receiving I had gone over the requirements as you can see here:

Smuggling on the other hand was a bit of work however.  The reason for the high pay off had to do with being in Archon Delaine's part of space, where I had picked up perfectly legal cargo of personal weapons, only to end up in the next system giving me the warning it was illicit cargo in the destination.

I tried silent running, failed because there was a Patrol just outside the mail-slot got tagged and fined for about 200K+ credits.  Thanks to black market trading was still trading, I earned myself a hefty 1.2 million credits for that mistake.

I spent most of one day attempting to collect illicit cargo from various USS sites within the bubble.  Through that I learned that helping rescue missions in legal salvage for lifepods and personal equipment is a lucrative business as the two that I had performed also paid close to 500K in credits.

Eventually after a smash and grab from a rescue mission and getting the last bit of illicit cargo, I ended up going into Ross 128.  Didn't realize it was one of the permit systems that I earned so long ago and saw information in the system that the Extranet did not inform me about.  It'll be something I go check out later on.  Unfortunately Ross 128 did not have a black market (no surprise there, it's a prison colony), but I was too knackered to figure that out for myself.  So, I ran over to O'Brien Vision in Sirius and turned in my last article of Illicit Cargo.

I received my invitation to The Dweller 5 minutes after that.

I went to visit him in the Buccaneer; got the blueprints I wanted to work, pinned for work, and blasted out of there.  I met The Dweller as I was going through the usual courtesies with his admins and have to say that man creeped me out the instant we shook hands.  While he seemed ordinary and unassuming in his appearance, there was just something too.. greasy about him. Like he indulges in a lot of vices that I'm gladly ignorant of.

A couple of days later, and working through the requirements for obtaining the "knowledge" on Lei Cheung, I received my invitation. Off in the Buccaneer I was once again, and dropping off 200 units of Gold as the requirements for invitation into Cheung's engineering lab. just over 2 million credits and 200 units of gold purchased from West City, Laksak.

While not as creepy as The Dweller and more sociable than most of the engineers I have met, his jovial attitude seems more perfunctory than anything else. I didn't get him to perform any of the necessary work for any of my ships; truth be told I was just there to familiarize myself with his workshop.

For the next couple of days, I'm going to continue to putter around Newholm Station to work on missions to rank up to Rear Admiral. After that, who knows.
