Lingering Questions

27 Feb 2017Gol Senz
Today I ventured to the HIP 17862 system, after paying a visit to Ms. Martuuk and having her work some magic upon my FSD. I approached the coordinates I was given (30.32 / -98.6) on the moon of the planet 6C, cautious as I did. I created a hill, and there it sat: The wreckage of an alien ship. It was calm, but eerie in the same light. More eerie, perhaps, was the fact I was scanned upon visual contact. Was this ship, this creature, still alive? I touched down nearby, dropping my SRV to perform some closer investigation. How long had it been here, and why was it here in the first place. They say that commanders have been encountering unidenfified craft around the Pleiades Nebula for a few months now, but is this crash site a product of that? Unknown artifacts littered the ground, glowing faintly as I drove past towards the main body of the craft. It let out occasional noises, low rumblings and chattering. A distress call of some sort? Could it have been grounded after a fight? Was it truly a Thargoid, or one of its peaceful cousins? So many questions, and my SRV's headlights revealed such little answers. The atmosphere near the center of the downed vessel was thick with distortion, radiation of some sort, perhaps? I took in the site, investigating the debris and collecting photographic notes before returning to my Asp. In the interest of science, I took off at a low hover and fired my beam lasers at one of the artifacts. It took a beating, but eventually ruptured and was vaporized. A deep howl was let loose from the ship, as if the artifact's destruction caused it physical pain. Most interesting, indeed.
