Simulation Arena - Logbook Entry #06

So, I did as I said and tried my luck in the arena. I entered with a fellow wing-mate, CMDR Schmicknick. Unfortunately we ended up on opposite teams and I never once bested him, but he was giving me plenty of tips and tricks over our private comms. I cant say I did too well I learned quite a bit, but hey Ive never been a dog fighter. Navigating through astroid belts is no sweat, I even did the Kesel Run in less than 17 parsecs, not the best record by any means, but definitely not bad at all. I was the best in my home system at least, but that's nothing compared to trying to shake another CMDR off your tail while alternating the power between your systems, weapons, and thrusters, with the computer shouting emergency warnings at you all at once. One thing I can say: There is NOTHING like the first time you get destroyed by another CMDR in the simulation. For an instant you think youre actually dead. You just cease to exist for a moment, then pop, you're in your ship again ready to head right back into the fray.I'll keep practicing in the arena. I actually need to gain at least 1 prestige ranking before I am even permitted to head into the home system of Atlas Corp. Besides that I know the experience will come in handy one day out there in the black.
