PAYLOAD!

31 Jan 2017Maschil_Crane
Today I hit payload, again, by my standards at least. I know there are people out there with so much CR they could donate 100mil and not bat an eye lash, but hey, Im just a poor kid all grown up. Anyways, I digress.

While mining osmium this evening for the Federation on of my prospector limpets detected a vein of painite in an asteroid I was surveying. Even though I was out for osmium and I barely had enough cargo space for the osmium I needed for the task I was assigned I figured 'what the hell I'll make a 2nd run if I have to.' Plus, I just found an outpost that buys painite between 60k-70k CR so it'd definitely be worth it. My hud was reading painite in concentrations of 30%-40% so I figured I could haul in 2-5 tonnes easily. I proceeded to mine the asteroid and by the end of the job I had 10 TONNES OF PAINITE! I had been out for less than 20 minute. So, trying to keep myself composed with what I had calculated to be a 600k CR load and finish hunting osmium I continued on to survey some more asteroids. I was running without a shield generator so as to allow for more cargo space so I was a bit nervous about sticking around much longer, but less than 5 minutes after finishing up at the last painite deposit my prospector pings another vein thats readin between 30%-40% painite again. I rush over as fast I can at this point because I'm a firm believer in the idea that 'if it seems too good to be true it probably is so Im just waiting on a group of pirates to ambush me, but next thing I knew my sensors were reading "Asteroid Depleted." That was it. I let my collector limpets gather all the minerals while I checked all my flight modules to ensure everything was good to go for super cruise and made my way out of the rings around Delkar 7.

I headed straight towards Dhathaarib system because I know Berezevoy Terminal pays top CR for painite. Someone attempted to interdict me as soon as a pulled into the system, but I was able to evade them fairly easily. Glad I got this beauty upgraded a few days ago. I docked safely at Berezevoy and off-loaded all 17 tonnes of painite I was able to gather in the last 30 minutes and made my way back to my ship.

Im sitting here now, in my cockpit, with trembling fingers & hands because I've never seen a data-pad read out so many numbers next to the CR symbol. Let alone my own wrist console. By the way I got rid of my old Pip-Boy 200k. I guess that encounter at the InGaBa got to my nerves. I decided to go with the Apex Crane model, I hear they have the fastest processor.

Anyways, I took a screenshot of my wrist-console first of all for proof, and secondly so I never forget my first big pay day. I never in my life thought I'd see 1,123,037 CR in all my days, but I never in all my dreams could have imagined I would earn it myself in less than 45 minutes. The creator truly is good to me. There is no such thing as coincidence...

CMDR Crane out.
