Two Sides of One Coin [Lilith - Part 2]

19 Jan 2017Lilith2980
Liliths Python was equipped for many purposes. She preferred to stay out of Stations controlled by Federation or Empire factions, so naturally this necessitated in making her ship as self sufficient as possible. The downside to this was that it hindered the vessels jump range somewhat, giving Lilith a lot of time to think on her travels. More than she would have liked if she was honest with herself.

Right now, she was contemplating the man she'd spaced just a few hours ago. Lilith had smiled before sending him to his death. Not exactly a pleasant one either. It was unlike her to enjoy such things. In fact, she was usually somewhat indifferent towards the idea of killing people. Usually only doing it if she felt it necessary. But the further up the Imperial chain she climbed, the more inclined she felt towards crueller punishments. The first man she'd met, the discharged Imperial, got let off with a busted kneecap, even that was just because he'd refused to talk.

Of course, she had paid for that one later. The ingrate had gathered some mercenaries together and chased her down. Fortunately, they had grossly underestimated her, turning up in a wing of four that consisted of two Eagles, a Sidewinder and a Cobra MkIV clearly calling the shots. Hoping to beat her with just a number advantage no doubt. She made short work of the smaller vessels with her fully armed Python before disabling the Powerplant in the Cobra. As she approached the ship she frowned at the hull readout now reading 55% with her shields just beginning to recharge.

Boarding the disabled vessel with the intent to quiz the pilot on what he was hoping to achieve, she was surprised to see the very same Ex-Imperial aboard along with another Mercenary piloting on his behalf. They had both pulled out their sidearms to defend themselves but Lilith was too quick, shooting the merc in the chest before ducking to avoid the shot from the Imperial and blasting the gun out of his hand. On the downside, she'd been aiming for his head, but on the plus side the man was now utterly terrified of what was to come.

Obviously his presence answered all the questions she had intended to ask, so without saying a word she simply marched up to the man and knocked him unconscious with the butt of her gun. She then initiated the self destruct protocol on the ship and left. She put some distance between her Python and the Cobra, waited for the inevitable explosion to signify there would be no more trouble from him and made a mental note never to leave loose ends again.

Her daydream was finished as she dropped out of Witchspace into a system bordering Achenar. This was where she'd have to concentrate hard. Any of the ships busying around in Supercruise could interdict her and bring about a fight she simply didn't need right now. So she began the arduous task of targetting and scanning every Supercruise Signature she could find in the area, looking for a Clipper registered to a CMDR Macruik. All the while, simultaneously keeping any potential bounty hunters off her tail.

After what felt like an hour of this, she plotted a course to another system in the hopes of having better luck there but before she initiated the jump, something caught her eye in the Comms Chatter.

I'm looking for an INS Onyx. I have news from Earl Macruik

There was no direct response but she found the ship that sent the message in her Contacts and turned her ship in pursuit.
