Chaos at Citi Gateway: An Overview [Lilith - Part 1]

19 Jan 2017Lilith2980
Arriving at Citi Gateway itself was an uneventful procedure. She made sure toavoid scans by acting casually and avoiding drawing ay attention to herself. This was an Empire controlled system after all, so any scans would instantly have station security bearing down on her, each hoping to snag a piece of her bounties where possible.

Dockig her Python, she slipped into something more comfortable, her trademark black trenchcoat and thin jumper and trousers. Making sure to keep a knife stashed on her, inside her boot, and a gun clipped into its holster.

It wasn't long before she made her first encounter, in the viewing area of a Federal Corvette. Studying his appearance, she determined he was definitely a bounty hunter. But she needed to get a guage on him before offering the job of tracking Luke for her. Unfortunately it turned out he was either uninterested or genuinely busy, since after a brief exchange of sarcastic responses he hadn't even imparted his name to her, let alone take the job.

Lilith then turned her attention to an onlooker attempting, poorly, to watch in seclusion. But he too simply left with barely a word. With that, she made her way up towards the main streets of Citi Gateway, in search of the famous Inara Galactic Bar.

It wasn't long after leaving the elevator that she heard some security guards mentioning a situation going on at the bar. Since this was her first visit to the station, it seemed an ideal way to get directions to the bar, so she tailed them. It wasn't long before they exited an alleyway in time to see a pair, a man and woman, running down the street being pursued by a Security Drone of sorts. The guards, for whatever reason, left the drone to its chase and headed to investigate the bar instead.

Sensing an opportunity for a bargaining chip, Lilith sprinted after the drone and swiftly incapacitated it. The pair that were running approached her and as they got closer she saw the woman had seams on her joints. A cyborg perhaps? Nonetheless, given the pair were being chased by security it was clear they were trouble. So she took the precaution of keeping a gun trained on them and decided to try and coerce them to cooperate.

This backfired catastrophically. The man tossed a small silver canister to her citing "Hopefully this will qualify as good enough payment." Lilith caught the canister and took a quick glance at it, she'd barely managed to begin asking what it was before the canister detonated into a cloud of smoke. The shrapnel from the casing tore through her hand, and the smoke filled her lungs. Attempts at shooting through the smoke yielded no results, and before she knew it security was arriving on the scene. Sensing trouble, Lilith opted to play the victim, using the tears from the smoke and pain in her left hand to emulate a damsel in distress. However, attempting to throw herself into the arms of one of the guards caused him to panic and fire a single shot that pierced her shoulderblade.

Proving to be more than her body could handle, the smoke inhalation, shredded hand and blood loss from her bullet wounded shoulder caused her to pass out.

It was a while later Liith awoke to find herself in a hospital bed, a guard posted outside her room and with her shoulder blade quite meticulously through regular surgery. But she was immensely grateful she awoke when she did as there was talk of using cybernetics to fix her hand. Something she steadfastly refused. So a short while later, her hand had been patched up through the same surgery and she'd been given a Tension Grip and some exercises to restrengthen her hand again. However, despite the best efforts of her residential surgeon, Dr Glaboski, the scars remained.

Using this time to plan an escape route, Lilith kept quiet, but feigned illness or sleep whenever security officials visited to check on her progress. What she needed, was an opportunity to sneak out of the ward she was in. Ideally the security guard would nip off for a toilet break or something, but no such chance came. She could only keep up the charade for so long before they stopped believing her, so time was of the essence and so she made the decision to instead sneak up and subdue the guard. It worked a treat, and within moments she was able to roam the corridoors in peace, her next step, find a doctors jacket to allow her to leave.

Fortunately a Doctors office wasn't far away, and a quick check revealed it to be empty. So she slipped in, and began the process of changing. In pulling her boots on however, she slipped slightly and bumped the computer controls, causing the screen to light up with the image of a young woman who looked quite similar to herself. Thinking nothing of it, she continued dressing, but it was only as she was ready to leave she spotted one of the images flick onto the screen. This time, it was an image of Lilith. Unconscious, with lipstick on and some other make-up.

Without hesitation she grabbed a memory unit from her rucksack and downloaded all the images. Then scribbled a short note so the responsible Doctor would know he'd been caught. Even leaving her hospital tag so he or she would know by whom. Searching the drawers and cabinets she learned that the office belonged to none other than Doctor Glaboski. Her surgeon.
