Chaos at Citi Gateway: An Overview [Lilith - Part 2]

20 Jan 2017Lilith2980
Stuffing her belongings into the rucksack she'd been carrying, Lilith snuck back out of the office, this time dressed in a lab coat. All that was missing was an ID badge. There was no way she was getting out the front door so once she'd located someone that looked similar enough to her she deliberately collided with her, using the commotion to snag the badge off the womans chest. Making sure to depart quickly, she made a beeline straight for the staff exit.

But she wasn't quick enough. Either the unconscious guard had been found in her room, or the Doctor had found her note. It didn't matter why, but the result was that the alarms had been raised, and now her image was flashing up on the screens around her as a manhunt began and guards were stationed at each exit. Thinking fast, Lilith darted into a nearby bathroom. Giving herself a momet to think, she knew she needed to change her appearance quick. But how? There were no masks, she couldn't cut her hair or pierce her ears, and smiling sweetly wouldn't cut it.

Then her eyes fell onto the soap dispenser. Knowing this would hurt like hell, she carefully gathered a small drop onto the end of her finger and ever so gently touched it against the whites of her eyes. Instantly, her eyes began streaming tears and she felt the horrible stinging sensation as the chemical attacked her eyeballs and her body fought to rid the toxin. A brief glance in the mirror showed this had the desired effect, the tears and rubbing had caused her face to turn red and blotchy. She still looked like herself, but it would take a close look to determine that. Lilith was relying on the guards being just lax enough in their duties.

On her way out, she flashed her stolen ID and was just on her way out the staff exit when a voice shouted to stop her. Turning briefly, she recognised the man as Dr Glaboski just as the door clicked shut behind her. To ensure he couldn't follow immediately, she smashed the lock and scarpered down the alley. Pausing briefly to swap the Doctors jacket for her trenchcoat again she stuffed the coat and bag into a garbage chute, then exited into the busy streets, thankful her eyes were clearing up enough for her to see properly.

Keeping an eye out on the people surrounding her, she made her way through the crowds aiming for the dock elevator. She took a mental note of an old woman arguing with a service drone for one of the cafes, a man sat at a table fiddling fervently with his datapad and none other than Marra Morgan entering Citi Gateway with an entourage of people. The last one surprised her, this was not where Lilith had anticipated seeing her for the first time, but now wasn't the time to make introductions. Especiallysince upon examining her datapad she'd found that someone, presumably Glaboski, had set a sizeable bounty on her.

She stepped inside the lift, alongside a small group of other citizens, including the man she'd clocked at the cafe on his datapad. While she was suspicious of him, there was little reason to act on it, especially amongst a group of people. So she allowed the elevator to carry her, and the other passengers, towards the Docks.

She made a point to leave the elevator first, causing the doors to act as a bottleneck, slowing down any potential pursuers and as she reached a junction in the corridoors she was relieved to see everyone had gone their seperate ways. Her luck wasn't to hold for long as she arrived at the pad her Python was parked at only to discover a problem with the repairs had developed.

The issue was a fairly small one, but it had potentially large consequences. Simply put, her FSD was pulling in too much fuel per jump. Not a problem in itself really but she was warned that at any point it could give out on her and drop her out of Witchspace between systems. Unfortunately, the part the crew needed was a few hours away which left her stranded on the station.

In a foul mood, Lilith entered her ship, and after assessing the damage from her hospitalisation, she cleaned up and decided to cover her scarred hand with a leather glove. Since security had confiscated her weaponry, she was forced to retrieve her energy pistol and a few extra knives, knowing that a bounty was on her here. Feeling suitably armed in case anyone tried their luck, she decided to try and get to the bar again, hoping this time she could hire someone to tail CMDR Luke as she'd originally intended. Disembarking the Spearhead, she decided to keep her head down and try to avoid unwanted attention this time.

Taking a very roundabout route to the lift, in an effort to shake any potential tails, she was grateful she'd had the piece of mind to leave the memory chip containing Glaboskis photos in a safe place on board the ship. Arriving at the elevator, she was approached by another man looking to use the lift, much to her distaste, the man struck up conversation with her. Introducing himself as 'Micah'. In the brief instant before boarding the elevator, Lilith could swear she recognised him. It was only upon boarding the lift, she remembered that this was the same man she'd observed at the cafe reading his datapad.

It seemed a bit too strange that he should be boarding the lift at the same time as her forbthe second time, so she positioned herself at the back of the lift and in the moment he was distracted with the buttons, drew her weapon. Keeping it concealed behind her back, she waited for the lift to come to a halt and the instant the doors opened she pressed the gun into the small of the mans back. Instructing him to close the door again she explained where she'd recognised him from.

Realising the game was up, 'Micah' explained he was in fact chasing the bounty, but gut instinct had him questioning the reality behind the man behind it. Glaboski had fed him some cock-and-bull story about her going crazy and assaulting a guard, making claims that she was mentally unstable. But the up front portion of the payment seemed a little too generous.

Deciding for now that 'Micah' was not of much threat any longer, Lilith agreed to go to the Inara Galactic Bar with him to discuss things further.
