Chaos at Citi Gateway: An Overview [Lilith - Part 7]

05 Apr 2017Lilith2980
Lilith never really took kindly to threats, and this one was no different. At the sound of Caits voice instructing her to drop her gun, Lilith instinctively turned to her side and returned the favour. Scolding Caits tone of voice, over comms and right now, Lilith pointedly refused to back down. Until Bloodfeather opted to step in, plunging them into darkness, slamming a door down in between the pair and chastising the two of them with all the tone and attitude of a mother separating two fighting children.

Before either of them could react, Bloodfeather explained that Isaiah had been carted off to the Medical Ward by Glaboski, although whereabouts inside, she couldn't tell. Caits voice came over the earpiece with a series of worried questions and rash decisions. Which Bloodfeather recognised and put aside. This put Lilith in a position she'd hoped not to be in. One where she felt obliged to help rescue Isaiah.

Suggesting they use the data as a literal bargaining chip, Lilith offered her helping hand. Only to be responded to as though she didn't remotely understand the situation in the slightest. At which point all of her pent up annoyance at Cait came pouring out. Suggesting that Cait ought to regale her with the information Lilith was clearly lacking in the situation before toning it down, reminding herself and Cait alike, that Lilith was not the only person Glaboski had gotten his claws into. That her life was not the only one affected by his hobby. She finished off by stating she simply intended to use the data as a means to buy time, with or without Caits help.

It took a while, but Cait relented. Although it seemed like she still didn't understand the full plan. However Bloodfeather apparently decided that they had both cooled off enough to reopen the door. At which point Lilith offered a hand to help lift Cait, who had sat against a wall, off of the floor. Not a sign of friendship, but of willingness to cooperate. Despite the fact Cait took it, they still ended up jibing at each other, with Lilith still insinuating that her and Isaiah had more than just Glaboski between them. Which Cait had Bloodfeather refute, and despite her confidence that Bloodfeather wouldn't lie on Liliths behalf, Lilith took a secret, guilty pleasure that she apparently had to check in the first place.

They both walked to Liliths Python, The Spearhead, still squabbling. As they reached her pad, Lilith punched in the access code and was incredibly relieved to discover that it now no longer had the many pipes and cables attached that it had during her previous visit. The foreman came up to her, and asked for payment, which she handed over gladly before turning back to Cait and presenting her with the current situation.

Lilith owed no loyalty to either of them. She had Glaboskis data freely available to her. All she had to do was request permission to depart and she was back on her own. She'd practically spent her life in solitude, more-so since she'd left her 'family' in Sol. So she gave Cait a simple question, why should she stay and help Cait. Isaiah sure, he'd been willing to help when he had no reason to, and was now in the clutches of Glaboski because of that fact. But Cait? So far, she'd had nothing but grief from her.

Cait responded. Acknowledging that Lilith did indeed, have no reason to help out. But that if there was a shred of decency inside her, she would do so because of the fact he was there because of her. Not only that, Cait proceeded to add in the fact that, should Lilith leave, Cait would carry on without her. In doing so, whatever had been done to Isaiah, Cait would seek out to inflict upon Lilith tenfold. But not because it was Isaiah. Not because of Liliths bounties. But because of the act of turning her back on a man who helped when he had no real reason to do so and was now in trouble because of it.

Lilith stopped just short of laughing in her face. Reminding Cait that all she'd accomplished was to remind Lilith she was a criminal, yet simultaneously tried to appeal to her sense of honour and loyalty. At which point she spun on her heel and stomped up the boarding ramp, closing the hatch behind her to prevent Cait from following her. Hopefully leaving her on the landing pad with the impression that she was departing the station. She wasn't planning to. In fact, every reason Cait had given for Lilith to help Isaiah was in fact, why she planned to help Isaiah. With that, she returned to her quarters and retrieved the Memory Stick before connecting it to her Datapad. Stopping only to tell Bloodfeather to tell Cait to stay put. A short second later, and she was staring at the images she'd taken from Glaboskis computer, until the one of herself came into view.

Composing herself, she stood up with both the pad and chip in hand ad stormed down the ramp and directly back to Cait, thrusting the pad into her chest and laying everything out to her there and then. How she intended to help Isaiah. Not for herself, or because of some unpaid debt. But because of the other people on the pad and because she needed to get back at Glaboski. But finished with the ever lingering question of why she should side up with Cait. It was obvious why, really. Two, even three heads if you count Bloodfeather, would be better than one. But it seemed like something that ought to be said out loud to validate it.

But Lilith wasn't expecting the outpouring of emotion that followed. Of why the pair were so close and how much Isaiah meant to Cait. But it wasn't the emotion that swayed Lilith. Merely the fact that the admittance had assured Lilith that the woman in front of her had more to lose by double crossing her, than she would gain. With an offer of the Doctors head on a plate if and when they complete the rescue.

While the thought was nice, Glaboskis head on a platter wouldn't help the underlying thoughts eating away inside her. But nonetheless she had to prove to the man he wasn't as untouchable as he thought his position made him. For everyone's benefit. Her major concerns almost came out, but she managed to brush it off and recompose herself before flipping it around and projecting her usual air of confidence over Cait. Ensuring they were on the same page if nothing else.

Then they began the planning as though nothing had happened between them.

Authors Note: Picking up here as Lilith and Isaiahs plan has completely failed. Glaboski has managed to poison Isaiah and take him hostage, whether because he suspected foul play or because it was his plan all along, Lilith and Bloodfeather had no idea. Either way Cait was now here and seemingly holding Lilith at gunpoint until she got answers.
