From one squadron leader to another

13 Apr 2021Chad VanGaalen
Commander Chad VanGaalen paused before dispatching a message he'd been wanting to send for a long time. At the last minute, he opted to make it publicly available instead of sending it privately to one man's data slate.

CMDR BILLBOARDS,

For weeks now, I have held my tongue, watched and listened to you thrash around like a small, spoiled little child. It would be amusing if it weren't for the scores of impressionable young Commanders blindly following your path. I feel for them, and for their families. Straylight is a compassionate collective, after all, despite the way you have painted us.

In the beginning, CMDR BILLBOARDS, I also felt for you. It cannot be easy, as an inexperienced Commander, to be flat-out abandoned by your fearless leader just a few months in to building a squadron.

This all changed, of course, when I witnessed the laughably immature projection of your clearly fragile ego, condescending attitude, and concerning lack of situational awareness, especially for a person in a position of leadership.

All of this is to say that after some thought, we've decided we will remain in the area. Perhaps we can learn from each other. Or perhaps you'll remain the same.

Good luck out there in the black.

Chad VanGaalen
Straylight Syndicate

Satsified, he turned to a dossier on his desk. The label was short and sweet.

IMPERIAL CORSAIRS: STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES

Chad smiled.
