Colonial Cutter #3

Day 3:

Well it's stupid o'clock and I'm falling asleep in my seat so this'll be a brief one! We've just set down on a gorgeous little planet on the very edge of the Veil West nebula for the night before returning to the bubble tomorrow. I've been here before, several months ago on a shakedown jaunt of the Calypso, my clipper. I remember being blown away by the colours and nothing's changed - it's still an amazing sight, made all the better this time round by the pampered luxury of the Cassandra

We set off early doors this morning after a pretty fun (and very, very late night!) catching up with buddies in the Colonia region. Lot of SLF joyriding around local canyons and bases which culminated in some very expensive bills! Dusting off first thing (with a hell of a hangover) and straight down, a k below the galactic plane in search of some undiscovered systems - and instantly rewarded with a peach of an ELW, slightly low atmospheric pressure but everything else in the green.

After logging the scan, we started a beeline for home. Nothing but fresh systems and a lot of tasty scan data, with the added bonus of a glorious view looking up beneath the galactic plane;

Even the stars out here are giving us a show - jumped in on three beasties in a little dance, would have been criminal not to grab some snaps! Took a while to line them up right, but think it came out ok:

Fair few high value scans on the way home, eating up the systems - passed the halfway mark and decided to stretch the legs next to another ELW - this one was a big old gal, 2g and pretty poor temperature but a bit of a looker:

Eyelids were starting to feel a bit heavy, so decided to skip the bubble tonight and divert to Veil West. Which was supposed to be a beeline - but of course we ran into a nice litte dwarf star with an icy skirt, so out came the camera again:

Right, absolutely the last one. Straight to Veil West with blinkers on, found my old landing site (checking and rechecking thanks to exhaustion and a hangover that just won't quit!) buried the landing gear and powered down.

I'll enjoy the sights tomorrow morning but for right now, I'm off to create a me-shaped hole in bed
