Leaving Hornby Terminal I then completed another three jumps before landing at Hirayama Installation in the Coquim system. I bought spongiform victuals which are a staple food of the Imperial military but a rarity outside Imperial space. 
I pressed on to TarTar dock where I sold on the rares I had bought in Lave and Leesti and then on to West Market where I sold the rest of my rares. To this point I had been interdicted twice by pirates and evaded both attempts easily. I calculated my profit and running rare goods was going to earn me about 10 millions credits a month. This was not turning out to be the money earner I had hoped for. However selling the data from my scanning of each system had promoted me the the explorer rank of scout.
It was time for a change of plan. I had been contacted by Felicity Farseer offering her services as an independent engineer. I had known of the existence of specialists able to substantially upgrade the performance of specific ships modules. The idea of having a faster ship with stronger shields able to jump much further distances appealed to me. However her services didn't come cheap and she required payment in Meta Alloys.
So I headed out to Pleiades Sector PN-T B3D where "barnacles" had been found.
