War in Ethgreze Resumes over Hacienda Attack

26.01.3309After a series of attacks on Slow Field Hacienda, an agricultural installation of Perez Ring Brewery in Phekda, officials have published initial findings as to the suspected perpetrators. AID Pilots reported from the scene on Monday that several waves of attackers had high bounties no their heads - in particular from the Ancients of Mumu, who control the system. While they also reported a few Alioth Independents bounty claims, this has been waved of as coincidence by PRB, who point the finger at their rival faction. The presented theory states that the Alioth Independents, plagued by an ongoing Orrere Pocks outbreak in their local installations, hired semi-legal mercenary groups to launch an attack. The plan would have been to capture valuable medical supplies from the station in the heat of the attack. Company director Rodger Clay answered questions on a conference on Perez Ring this morning:
The fact that some ships were wanted in AI jurisdiction does not change the very apparent motive behind the attacks. Also we have gathered various pieces of evidence and intercepted transmissions that back our claims. We have submitted all material to the courts.
He went on to comment on plans to deal with the risk of future attacks as well as the general response plan towards the Alioth Independents:
If it was not for a wing of four AID pilots and an independent auxiliary, the situation would have been dire. The constant nuisance and unprovoked attacks by the Alioth Independents have been going on for years. We have been lenient, trusting in Alliance institutions and the courts. Yet the situation does not seem to improve. We are now working closely with our partners and we have formulated strategies to contain this threat once and for all and we have also initiated preparations for a recapture of Ethgreze. The Ethgreze system has been under AI occupation for almost a month now. It is time to put an end to it.
