Logbook entry

Back out into the vacuum after some rest. Oct. 20, 3301 (PART 1)

20 Oct 2015iModar
October 20, 3301.

I spent several days tending to my shop, "It Came From the Void" on Saunders's Dive after several more days of straight trading. It was good to finally get a little rest. Unfortunately, my business has hit a bit of a boom. Unfortunate because of the drama that's been going on in system (Wolf 1301). I hear we were on the brink of war. Well, the time came again to venture out for goods.

I hired a few people for the shop so that it won't be deserted while I travel. Soon I'll have to hire more for a full crew of...however many a Cobra Mk III can carry. The excitement has died down some in system so this little merchant is free to safely fly. First I went to the Kogich system. Thankfully the bounty on me has been filed away as a legacy fine. As part of my agreement with E.X.O., I sometimes need to go on less-than-moral missions to further our faction's goals. Thankfully I have another ship for that! Since I was at Williamson Hub I decided to redeem some bounty vouchers: 112,720 CR in all.

One of my E.X.O. contacts asked me to deliver some trade data to McArthur Station in the Mantja system...thankfully they, too, have let my bounty turn into a legacy fine. As soon as I locked in an approach vector system security interdicted me for a scan...warm welcome. An even colder breath came over the comms when I requested docking permission from the station. They really, REALLY do not like me here. Of course, for the same reason that I wasn't too fondly thought of in Kogich. This time there were civilians involved. I tried to explain that business is business but was told to do what I needed to do and to "get the hell out." As a gesture of good will, I payed my fines but didn't really score any points. I'm fairly certain I was cussed out over the comms when I announced departure.

I needed to stock up on some coffee and a fellow marketeer said that he also needed some and would pay me a small fee to bring some for his coffee shack, too. "Sure thing," I said. After leaving Mantja I set a course for the closest exporter of coffee to Wolf 1301: Aquila Station in the Dalfur system. Some time back I had to, of course, blow-up an individual who wasn't on good terms with E.X.O. Fortunately, it seems that he wasn't too well liked in Dalfur either, since that legacy fine barely breaks 8 grand. Something's going on though, military ships were everywhere and I was interdicted (again) and searched. After some asking around at Aquila Station, I discovered that there's plenty of war to go around and much of the system is in lockdown. I grabbed the bulk coffee and left. I intercepted several transmissions requesting weapons. I didn't want to piss anyone else off today.

I'm currently coasting through Dalfur in sub-light speed while I eat dinner and relax.

INCOMING TRANSMISSION

Hmm.... "open channel."

CMDR, I have a small errand for you. That fool Scoot has thrown away the lives of our sons and daughters for the last time! With immediate effect, the General and any personnel remaining loyal his insanity are hereby subject to termination. Scoot and a handful of his most loyal minions were last seen traveling through Mantja. The job's been opened to the flight squads of E.X.O. However, I know you have experience in underhanded take-downs.
