Entry #004 - Taking my time

We made Amundsen Terminal at 10:45, after only a few hours of travel from our overnight stop. Napoleon and I briefly discussed moving on, but decided that there was no rush. We therefore stayed at Amundsen until this morning. I spend most of this time in the parlour, reading Moby Dick and wandering the halls and decks of the Zenith. Around 15:00 I took a stroll around the visitor's area and passenger's lounge of Amundsen Terminal. Apparently there's not many people here at this time. The reason for that became obvious after a Galnet report stated, that another pilgrimage to Colonia has started, and that people can have a shot at settling there. That should bring some interesting people to Jaques Station, by the time we get there.

The chief engineer went over a few things, to make sure that yesterday's repairs and maintenance was sufficient. The report states that everything is in fine order, although a quick look at the paintjob reveals that the Zenith is shedding some flakes, here and there. That is only to be expected on a voyage such as this. Hull integrity had gone down a little, so I spend some credits on tightening a few bolts. The engineering part of the crew seemed to like the attention to detail and appeared outright happy with my decision. They must have served on some banged up vessels in the past, and what's a few hundred thousand credits to maintain peak efficiency?

We took off around 07:00 and set our sights for the Eagle Nebula. Napoleon and I came to an agreement on joining the so called Highway from Eagle's Point. That means one more base before we break off from the regular route to Colonia. It's time to see some Neutron Stars. At 08:20 we took a quick break and a cup of tea on a beautiful beige planet with a complement of rings. The scenery really set off the beauty of interstellar travel. I can definitely recommend it. Planet AB 1 A in the Traikaae YJ-X B28-8 system. I guess it's nothing fancy to the seasoned part of the exploring community, but beauty is in the detail, if you ask me.

Time to move on. We'll make Eagles Landing by 21:00, if my calculations are correct. 3000 LY seems like nothing now.
