Entry #017 - Agoraphobia

Commander's log, 11 JUL 3303 I am sitting in a spacious apartment in Eagle's Landing, writing this log with a bottle of whiskey at my side. We made berth at 20:30, ship's time and spent the first 20 minutes getting acclimated to the many sounds of the dock. I can scarcely believe that it has been 4 months since our last visit. It seems both longer ago and only yesterday at the same time. So many things have happened since then, so many new sights and experiences. So many lives lost and new friends gained. I was, though, appalled to learn, from the mechanical crew, that we were down to 14% hull integrity in several areas. The structural work alone will set me back 1,3 mil. credits, but I shiver to think of what might have happened if we hadn't corrected our course.
It is strange to be off ship for the first time in three months. One gets used to the, shall we say, feel of the boat. It's almost like agoraphobia, to walk through the halls and corridors of Eagle's Landing, and I haven't done much in the way of exploring the city so far. I did, however overhear that a prison colony has been established not more than a few jumps away. I am intent on paying a visit before we depart the nebula.
The apartment is a wonderful change of scenery and the view is in itself spectacular, even though it does not match up to many of the other sights, we've seen on this pilgrimage. I do like it though and I feel the way it soothes my soul. I believe I shall sleep soundly tonight, and maybe, just maybe, Napoleon will let me sleep this time.
CMDR Zinnsei, signing off.
