Bumped, Fined and Wanted
23 Nov 2015Jim Beaumont
I jumped in the Francisco de Almeida (FAS) and shuttled my way across to Xelabara for a bit of pirate hunting in the nearby systems at the HRes sites. Two systems were on offer, the first being Viruachi.
Jumped in to the system and scanned around looking for the right planet body, and got myself to the HRES.
Now not being the one of the best combat pilots, I dipped my toes gently, picking the weaker and smaller ships at first on the fringes of any multi shipped battles. Avoid any wing of ships was my mantra. Just get your shooting boots dirty and progress from there.
And all went well. Yes I got beat up occansionally, but a quick trip to the nearby station for repairs was no problem.
After dropping of my first bounties at Xelabara, back again and this time there was a few other Cmdrs in situ. Okaaaay, tread carefully Cmdr, they maybe hunting pirate hunters. Check out what he is targetting first. Pirates. And the other? .... Pirates. Cool. Looks like we might be ok.
Pick a pirate, Asp, yep we'll have that one. Phew phew .... bap bap bap bap ... "Under attack" ... what... who the ... its not the pirate I'm attacking. Damm it. One of the Cmdrs was having a go, and being very successful too.
"Fire chaff"
"Fire Shield"
Boost, Boost.
He obviously didn't take to my encroaching on his 'territory'. That's fine, I'll bail out. I moved to another RES site, non Haz, and got some more bounties and then headed to the station for repairs.
On leaving, I'd forgot to set the route to Xelabara, so pulled up the Galaxy map, just as I did that, a ship flew straight into me,
"Fined". No problem. Pay it later.
"Wanted" Woooah. Murder! I never fired a shot. Now that's a Problem. I jumped away, then back to Xelabara. Now for the next system then. Bylgit.
Being a bit braver now, I was tackling wings and Pythons and Anaconda's. Much better at the combat, and know how to work my ship well. I even managed to run out of ammo for the multi-cannons, which was a first and a good sign of my combat skills improving in that I wasn't needing to bail out due to damage.
Then would you believe, in stopping at the local station to cash in local bounties that didn't count towards the CG, the same bloody thing happens.
Bump, fined and Wanted. Bollocks. What is it with these idiot pilots that they can't avoid a ship flying in a straight line. Thats' another system I can't go back in now.
I managed to find a third, but this is the last one and if it happens again, I'm done with this place.
