EX A Log, entry 02: Silence

I missed the silence.Of course, it's not really silent out here. There are all the little whistles a space ship in flight makes and every sun, every planet has its own sound.
It's true. Every time you get close enough to a stellar object in supercruise, you can hear the gravity waves straining against your ship. And if you get close enough to a sun, you can hear the sizzling of your ship's radiation shields slowly giving way under the onslaught.
But apart from the various sounds of nature, there is nothing else here. No com chatter. Most of the time, not even stray distress signals and other mindless noise. Just sweet, relaxing silence.
I am now several thousand light years away from human civilization and until I can reach Jaques' station, this sweet silence will continue.
