The Galactic Edge

Finally, I think I've reached the point of no return. My routes are down to less than 150 light years before my computer can't find a route to the target star anymore. Also, every route my ship computer does find is a weird corkscrew of dozens of jumps, slowly working around stars too far away even for my Asp.Theoretically, I could still spend a week or two getting closer to the edge, but looking at the map, there wouldn't actually be a lot of travel edge wards: My routes move along small clusters of stars, but not much anymore towards the void. The farthest star of the galaxy is still about a thousand light years away, but there's no way I could reach it.
It looks like trying to move further out just is a more sloppy way of what I wanted to do after getting here in the first place: Exploring a couple systems, then turning back home.
So I'll do that. I'll move a couple jumps further toward the edge, exploring the systems along the way. But the rush towards the edge is officially over. The edge of the Milkyway is here.
Tomorrow is a day to make some nice shots from the edge of the galaxy and the day after that, I will start my journey back to civilization.
