Stuff

So, my idea to roam around and look at stuff closer to home is still work in progress, mostly. Today I think I'll make a trip to Dabih Minor and try to scratch off some more close targets from my list of interesting stuff near the bubble. In other news, I spend my time in the bubble productively: I helped some Wing-mates to intervene in a war between two enemies of our faction, the Diamond Frogs. Then I helped the community by transporting evacuation shelters and other weird crap, got paid and bought and tried some ships, then sold them again.
From experience I can tell you, the Viper IV is a nice ship, the Cobra IV is a bit slow and the Keelback is just plain bad. The Asp Scout is another nice ship, if you need a combat ship with high jump range. Like the Imperial "Courier", the Asp "Scout" is sadly not an explorer. If you want to use them, I suggest taking a explorer-fit Courier. The Imperial Courier at last has enough internals so you can have all the essentials of an explorer. (Shield, cargo, fuel scoop, scanners, SRV-hangar) With the Scout you'll have to make sacrifices. Like not having any cargo space, no shields or no SRV.
Anyway, I have now a veritable stable of ships: An Imperial Eagle just because flying it is a lot of fun, a heavily armed Python to help out my buddies and an Imperial Clipper if I want to go trade stuff for a bit.
And of course, my Asp Painful Memories. After lots of experiments, it's still the best for pure explorations. I have thrown out one of my AFMs to make space for a SRV-hangar, so I have to travel a bit more carefully and I've reduced the weapons down to the bare minimum again for the rare sociopath in a Sidewinder, but that's it.
Sure, for some of my longer journeys in the future, a larger ship would be nice, but the only ship with enough internals for my needs and long enough jump range is the Anaconda and I'm still a bit far off from having enough money to pay for one.
Oh, I almost forgot: I'm about 1/3rd through analyzing the data I collected while travelling through the galactic edge and back. Progress!
