Spending Money Like Mad

Yesterday I went over my accounts and noticed a weird fact: If I sold my barely-used FAS and my worn-out old Python, I suddenly had enough money to build and outfit an Anaconda!Since the Anaconda has good jump range and lots of space compared to my Asp, I immediately jumped on this. With the exception of my Asp and some small ships here and there I sold my little fleet and bought one of the largest ships available to private pilots like me.
Now the Anaconda is impressive. It handles like a fat whale compared with my Asp, sure: But it what it does really well is making me feel like a fancy starship captain. Even the bridge is perfect: You control the ship from the centre of a large, three-seated room with a giant wall of glass as your cockpit-window.
From an explorer's view point, the ship is adequat. Filled with weapons and decent shields to deter the occasional pirate the jump range is barely above 30 light years per jump, far worse than my Asp, Painful Memories. On the other hand, the ship has internal module space enough for everything I could ever need.
Right now though I use the ship as a trader to help my wing, the Diamond Frogs. DF may be a bunch of mercenaries, but the people living under their control need to eat, so trading with their stations helps spreading their influence.
OK, so when I said I use my new Anaconda as a trader, I actually meant I used the ship for about a day. Turns out like shooting people, trading with people is something I can only do sometimes, or I grow bored very fast. So now my Anaconda is stored because I have to run down some rumours before I finish kitting it out for a very long journey I've been planning.
Since I have to wait some time for my informants to do their job, I decided to go back to my old main ship for a while. There are some targets near the bubble of human space I still haven't visited yet. This is probably my last chance to do this before my plans finally start coming together. When I come back from this short journey, I fully expect to have enough information about those rumours to make my final decision.
If the rumours are true, I'll maybe have to make some adjustments.
