Adrian Gilbert was sweating profusely as he puched in the code to his apartment door, he was an overweight man with a bald head and a mustache which curled at each end, his suit was wrinkled and his shirt had sweat patches at his armpits, the man had walked swiftly from the docks to his apartment."These Feds have any idea what kind of a hornet's nest they've stirred up, arriving like this?! They told me someone from Core Dynamics would escort me to Sol, they didn't say a whole fucking battlegroup would moor outside the station!" Adrian muttered these thoughts to himself as he closed and locked the door behind him, making his way to the bed, taking off his suit jacket and laying it on the bed.
"I think that the Feds are the least of your problems at the moment Mr Gilbert." Adrian jumped in fright, his hand reaching for the sidearm he had holstered against his side, "If you have any brains left you'll take that thing slowly out of it's holster and throw it on the bed." Adrian froze before slowly turning his head towards the source of the voice, "I didn't say look over here, now close your eyes and don't open them unless I tell you to, understand?"
Adrian squeezed his eyes shut and nodded vigorously, tossing the gun on the bed, "I'll do.."
"Shut the fuck up, from now on you aren't to open your mouth or speak. I'm going to ask questions and you're either going to nod for yes and shake your head for no, you understand?" The man's voice was cold and monotone, as if he was discussing mundane business matters.
Adrian slowly nodded his head, silently sobbing to himself. "Good, are you expecting anyone to come along? Think carefully now because if you say no and your wife or your little girl comes knocking they're going to eat a beam to the chest."
Adrian shook his head, "Have you signed the shares over to Core Dynamics yet?" Adrian shook his head, "Th..." Adrian felt an intense heat flash across the left side of his face, the end of his mustache was singed off and his skin felt like it was on fire, Adrian dropped to the floor screaming in pain.
The man's voice came to him from the darkness, his tone that of chastising a child, "I told you not to speak Adrian, now look what's happened." The man's voice took on a cold tone again, this time tinged with anger, "Now get up and stand straight, quit crying unless you want me to even out your mustache."
Adrian got off his knees and stood up straight, the man continued, "Next question, is Tina Parks still alive?" Gilbert hesitated before slowly nodding, the man noted his hesitation and pondered for a moment before speaking, "I'm going to let you talk for a little bit, you raise your voice or get too loud, you die. Understand?"
"Yes", Adrian whispered, the word coming out strangled from a combination of fear and pain. "You hesitated when I asked about Tina Parks. Why?" Adrian paused for a moment, the man noted this and stated, "If you're pausing it better be because you're making your statement as accurate as possible, I don't like being lied to Adrian."
Adrian panicked, his answer coming out in a whisper, "I don't know where she is, last I knew she was fleeing to the Warren's to ask Barboni for shelter." Adrian heard the man lean forward in his seat, his voice taking on an urgent note now;
"Tell me everything you know about this "Barboni" and where to find him."
