Part four of an ongoing series. What point is there in having a whole fleet of spaceships, if no-one knows what you have them for? So, I'm gonna put on my best salesperson patter and introduce you my fleet, and how each ship in it can help you achieve almost any aim. Some suggested uses are more serious than others. CMDR Maehara and Sirius Special Forces - for all your special business needs. If you get my meaning.Today, we're going basking - with the Imperial Cutter, I.T.S. Black Star.
Every faction needs to move cargo and materials. Gold, to improve your financial standing. Personal Weapons, so your supporters can defend their corner of the galaxy. Slaves, to build the latest monument to your personal greatness both quickly and cheaply. Beer, for democracy! Or something like that.
And every faction wants to move that cargo and materials as quickly as possible, in the largest quantities possible.
Presenting the Imperial Trade Ship Black Star. With a cargo capacity of 792 tons, we can move more cargo per run than anyone out there, excluding Panther Clipper owners. And when was the last time you saw one of them. What's more, with a top-speed of over 500 metres per second, pirate interdictions are dealt with in comic fashion, with the Black Star playing Roadrunner to a pirate's Wile E. Coyote impression. Beep beep.
Clients are reminded, however, that the Black Star gains its cargo capacity at the expense of shielding - as in, it doesn't have any. While this has never presented a problem in terms of pirate interdictions - beep beep, remember? - CMDR Maehara does have an unfortunate tendency to accidentally hit boost while docking from time to time*, and hitting the back of the docking bay at over 500ms while unshielded rarely ends well. You are consequently advised to ensure that your cargo is appropriately insured.
For more information, speak to CMDR Maehara or any station representative of Sirius Special Forces. We'll move your cargo Siriusly Quickly.
*It has been 136 days since the Black Star's last docking-incurred rebuy.
